Buderim Ginger

• First Ginger planted on Buderim Mountain, Queensland, Australia, in 1916
• Established in 1941 as Buderim Ginger Growers Co-operative Association
• The first of many export awards was received in 1968, from the Australian Department of Overseas Trade for demonstrating outstanding enterprise, skill and initiative. By 1968 Buderim Ginger was exporting to major markets, including United Kingdom, United States of America (USA), Canada, Europe, and New Zealand.
• Moved into a new and significantly larger factory 20 minutes north of Buderim at Yandina in 1979.
• Opened the United Kingdom office in 1984
• In 1985 The Buderim Ginger Tourist facility was opened at the factory site. This has become one of Queensland Tourism's most popular attractions.
• Germany 1993 was the commencement of the Europe office.
• 1998 the USA office was opened.
• In 1999 the purchase of Frespac Ltd in Fiji was completed. Frespac has since become the largest and most technologically advanced ginger processor in the Fijian Islands.
• A joint venture with Johannes Luehders KG was signed in 2001 in Germany, forming Buderim Ginger Sales GMBH.
  Currently
• Employs over 200 people world wide
• Capacity to process over 5000 ton of Ginger per annum
• Exports to more than 17 countries
• Has, and continues to produce the World's Finest Ginger
